| Reporting to VP of Philanthropy, this position identifies, cultivates, solicits and stewards donors with an emphasis on major gifts in accordance with the Mission, Vision and Core Values of SCPH. This includes, but is not limited to: |
- Direct Major Gifts Fundraising
- Planning and Communications
- Administrative and Reporting

| BA/BS degree in a related field and/or professional experience. Minimum 5 years experience in fundraising, with extensive experience in major gifts and planned giving. |
- Proficiency and ability to effectively use Windows OS, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Internet Explorer, Raiser’s Edge or equivalent software, MS Publisher and MS PowerPoint as needed.
- Excellent oral & written communication skills; ability to demonstrate leadership, interpersonal, motivational, time-management, and organizational skills.
- Willingness and ability to maintain appropriate level of confidentiality and privacy; to direct and oversee the work of others; to effectively problem solve. High ethical standards.
- Willingness and ability to interact professionally with all constituents, including older adults and co-workers, individually and as a part of a team.
- Ability to relate to donors and prospects, to listen well and to articulate SCPH priorities. A zest for working closely with seniors to realize their philanthropic goals.
- Substantial experience in developing and securing major gifts and strong understanding of planned gift vehicles. A results-oriented team player with a commitment to, and enthusiasm for, philanthropy.
- Ability to effectively handle multiple items / tasks as required and adapt favorably to changing priorities. Willingness and ability to effectively respond to emergency and/or crisis situations.
